Tākina is the Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre, located in the heart of New Zealand’s capital city and positioned as a premium, purpose-built destination for conferences, meetings, and exhibitions. The venue combines two large plenary halls with flexible event spaces, alongside a public gallery that hosts an active programme of touring exhibitions, connecting business events with Wellington’s cultural precinct.
Opened in 2023, Tākina strengthens Wellington’s ability to host major local and international events, supporting both delegate experiences and the city’s broader visitor economy.
Whilst working at an agency in Christchurch, we partnered with Tākina to drive venue bookings for conferences and exhibitions through a lead generation focused digital strategy. Our work spanned Google Ads, paid social, landing pages, and conversion tracking, built to attract event organisers across New Zealand and Australia and move them from discovery to enquiry with fewer steps and less friction.
To improve conversion performance, we aligned campaign messaging to Tākina’s primary booking intent, including “Book a conference” and “Plan your event”, then routed traffic into dedicated landing page experiences designed around venue suitability, capability highlights, and clear enquiry pathways.
The result was a smoother booking journey and improved website engagement, supporting increased event enquiries without relying on discounting or overcomplication, just clearer structure, stronger intent matching, and better measurement end to end.
